HMAS Adelaide Wreck Dive

hmas adelaide scuttled april 2010 terrigal nsw This awesome experience is only one hour dive from the Sydney CBD this is the largest, most accessible ex-naval vessel in Australia. The Ex-HMAS Adelaide is soon to become the first military dive site in NSW when scuttling takes place in April this year. Its final resting place will be 1.8km off the coast at Terrigal, NSW, in around 32m of water.

We plan to explore this artificial reef weekly, and observe changes in habitat uses and fish denisties over time. Cost to join us on this wreck exploration is $180 Includes:

Shark Dive

There is nothing more challenging than immersing yourself in the sharks world. Shark Diving
There is nothing like swimming amongst them and admiring their unique way to move. You will see the difference while comparing with the very stiff sharks that you can observe in an aquarium!

Just a few miles from Sydney CBD is a dive site named Magic point which is a natural aggregate of Grey nurse sharks? Straight out of your office in Sydney, jump in your fins and come to enjoy the incredible and wild shark dive 

There are 6 to 10 sharks in the winter season some 20 sharks have already been sighted in this cave.

The site is located off Maroubra beach at about 30mn boat ride from Sydney`s south head. The Cave base is at about a depth of 15m. All level of divers can engage in this Dive as it is shallow and well sheltered from dominant wind. (Open Water diver is OK).
It is highly advised to dive this site from the boat only as the shore dive access are very remote and dangerous with heavy sea conditions.

This boat dive departs Rose Bay Sydney every Friday and Saturday cost is  $120 Double dive includes:

  • weights and tanks
  • marine and shark conservation lecture by one of  our marine biologists
  • Gear Hire extra $70

Learn to Scuba Dive Sydney

If you've just decided to learn to scuba dive in Sydney, you've made an excellent decision and if you're not quite sure yet, let me help you make an excellent decision. Let's have a look at everything you need to know about learning to scuba dive and enjoying the underwater world with Sydney Underworld.

  • Whilst we are not a scuba training facility we contract scuba diving training professionals to provide free scuba training to as many individuals as possible to empower them to experience the marine environment with the freedom of scuba (this is provided at NO cost to you). 
  • What courses are available? To start diving you need your Open water Dive certification this is available for free through Sydney Underworld this certification is internationally recognised which means you can dive anywhere in the world. 

    Open Water Diver

    The Sydney based Open Water course is the most common course and a full introduction to scuba diving. The course takes 3 days or more and once you complete it you'll be certified for life and ready to go on to further training and a lifetime of great diving. Following on from Open water Diver, you may elect to increase your skill level by progressing to our free Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, and Dive Master courses. we also offer free speciality courses.
